                                                               ENGLISH FESTIVAL

The English Festival is held annually by the Western Pennsylvania Council of Teachers of English .  This event is for students in grades 4-12 and was organized in an effort to promote quality reading among our students.  Interested students are required to read books from a predetermined list.  I encourage all Fourth Graders to participate and all novels will be read in class. All students who participate in the festival are organized into teams of four or five in order to participate in various activities.  Students will need to receive an 85% or higher on AR tests for chosen books and have teacher recommendation to qualify.

More information will be announced later for this year's 2021 English Festival for grades 4-6, which is traditionally held in May at Seton LaSalle High School.

Students are required to read all of the books.  The students will hear a presentation from the featured author.  They will compete in various activities throughout the day.  These activities are based on their knowledge of the books.  Please visit https://sites.google.com/view/wpcte/english-festival?authuser=0 for more information on the selected books for this year and activities.
